Gramon

The red grape variety (breeding No. 1740-774 EM) is a new breed between Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta x Aramon Noir, The name was formed from the parents. The crossing took place in 1960 in France by the breeder Paul Truel (* 1924) on behalf of the INRA in the Domaine de Vassal in Montpellier, The late-ripening vine is somewhat prone to millerandage but resistant to Botrytis, It produces full-bodied red wines with moderate tannins, The variety is in smallest quantities in the departments Aude and Vaucluse grown. In 2010, only three acres were reported (Statistics Statistics Kym Anderson ).
