Grec Rouge

The red grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Barbarossa Verduna, Barbaroux, Cipar, Ciparka, Grec Rosé, Grisa Rossa, Kalebstraube, Pulitana, Rabigato Franco and Shasla Grecheskaya. It should not be confused with the Barbaroux or Rosé du Vár (Grec Rosé) varieties due to seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities. The vine produces light red, neutral-tasting wines that are mainly used as blends. It is also suitable as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
