The winery, also known as “Grabengritsch”, is located in the municipality of Vießling Spitz on the Danube in the Lower Austrian wine region Wachau, On Winery is connected. The organization of events, as well as tastings, vineyard hikes or cellar tours is offered. The company is run by Josef Gritsch. The steep terraced Vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards on primary rock soils in the Spitzer Graben in the Bruck, Panoramaweg, Schaffenfeld, Schön, Setzäcker and Setzberg locations. They are 90% with the white wine varieties Green Valtellina. Riesling. Neuburger. Chardonnay. Gewurztraminer and yellow muscatel, the rest with the red wines Zweigelt and St. Laurent planted. Some of the vines are over 50 years old. The vineyard work takes place after ecological Aspects with optimization of soil life and minimal use of chemical treatments.

The wines are made in the traditional way in combination with modern cellar technology with the aim of long shelf life by using Slow Food methods produced in the grape and wine production. Techniques such as osmosis, Dehydration or artificial aroma treatment, as well as the use of wood chips or sugar is, however, generally avoided. Around 30,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The product range also includes Frizzante, bottle-fermented sparkling wine and fine brandies. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus as well as at the Marivini Association (apricot and wine).
