The winery, also known as "Grabengritsch", is located in the municipality of Vießling near Spitz on the Danube in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. A wine tavern is attached. The organisation of events is also offered, as well as tastings, vineyard walks or cellar tours. The winery is run by Josef Gritsch. The steeply terraced vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards on primary rock soils in the Spitzer Graben in the Bruck, Panoramaweg, Schaffenfeld, Schön, Setzäcker and Setzberg sites. 90% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Neuburger, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Gelber Muskateller, the rest with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and St. Laur ent. Some of the vines are over 50 years old. The vineyard work is carried out according to ecological principles with optimisation of soil life and minimal use of chemical treatments.

The wines are produced in the traditional way in combination with modern cellar techniques with the aim of long storage life by applying slow-food methods in grape and wine production. However, techniques such as osmosis, water extraction or artificial aroma treatment, as well as the use of wood chips or sugar are generally avoided. Around 30,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The product range also includes frizzante, bottle-fermented sparkling wine and noble brandies. The winery is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus winegrowers' association and the Marivini (apricot and wine) association.
