The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Grolleau, Groslot de la Thibaudiere and Groslot Gris. It is a colour mutation of the Grolleau Noir variety. The medium ripening vine is susceptible to botrytis. In the Loire Valley, it is mainly used as a blend with other varieties for IGP Val de Loire wines. In 2016, however, no more stocks were reported; in 2000, there had still been 900 hectares (Kym Anderson statistics).
