Grub

A vineyard or site in the municipality of Kammern in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It lies exactly between the vineyards Gaisberg (Kammern) and Heiligenstein (Zöbing). The south-facing and wind-protected vineyard at the foot of the Heiligenstein consists of deep loess soil with a nutrient-rich bone bed. This special geology was created by its use as a camp site by mammoth and reindeer hunters during the Stone Age. Mainly Grüner Veltliner is cultivated here. The Hirsch Johannes and Schloss Gobelsburg wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
