Guignard de Saintours

The red grape variety (also Guignard de Saintours 2) comes from France, Performed in 2009 DNA analysis revealed that they are from a presumably natural crossing Magdeleine Noire des Charentes (Mother variety from Merlot) x Gouais blanc (Heunisch) originated. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see under molecular Genetics ). The variety is in Southwest France grown in small quantities. In 2010, however, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson ).
