The red grape comes from the former Yugoslavia ( Croatia
). Synonyms are Gustopup, Gustopupa, Gustopupica and Gustopupka. The parentage is unknown. It was mentioned in an ampelographic list published by Stjepan Bulić in 1925 as a variety of the island of Pag on the coast of North Dalmatia. The vine produces balanced red wines. In 2010, however, no stock was shown (Statistics Kym Anderson

; nothing is known about a possible relationship.
