The winery in the Italian winegrowing area South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ) was founded in 1977. It consists of two farms. The company headquarters is the "Hausmannhof" above the community Salurna (Salorno) in the district Buchholz. Later, the "Obermairlhof" was added above Klausen in the Eisacktal. The company is managed by the Ochsenreiter family. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Tramin, Kurtatsch, Salurn and Klausen. They are planted with the white varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner and Riesling, and the red varieties Blauburgunder, Merlot and Cabernet. The environmentally friendly management is carried out according to certified organic principles of the Organic viticulture With biodynamic Methods. The annual checks are carried out by the Bio-Control BIKO Tyrol. Quality criteria in the vineyard are a gentle on the vines, gentle pruning and strict grape selection.
The wines are in the three lines Hausmannhof, Obermairlhof and Selection under the DOC designations Eisacktaler and South Tyrol produced. The white wines are slowly fermented with the aim of fruity aromas and bottled until the summer of the following year. The red wines are becoming more open maceration matured in partly new, partly used barriques and bottled after 18 months. The wines Pinot Noir Riserva and Sauvignon Blanc Selection will be available for marketing at the earliest two to three years after the harvest. It also produces bottle-fermented sect with very long yeast storage between 24 to 108 months. Every year around 90,000 bottles are produced. The winery is a member of the Free winegrowers South Tyrol,
