Hagenbuch Lothar

The estate is located in the municipality Hainfeld (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, The family business is run by Lothar and Annemarie Hagenbuch, who are supported by the two sons. Tobias Hagenbuch is responsible for vineyard management and sales, Stefan Hagenbuch for the cellar industry. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers chapel and church piece (Hainfeld), and rose garden (Edesheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Morio-Muscat and Gelber Muskateller, and with the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Dornfelder. It is practiced near-natural viticulture. Quality criteria are pruning, sustainable care soil fertility, exact foliage care, strict yield reduction and grape selection at the vintage. According to the philosophy of the house, vinification is intervened only where it is essential for the preservation of quality. The red wines are mashed classic. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in a temperature-controlled steel tank, in a large wooden barrel or in barrique. The best wines are made by glass corks bottled.
