The estate is located in the municipality of Illmitz in the Burgenland wine-growing region Lake Neusiedl
(Austria). The traditional family business has existed since 1870. Today it is run by the fourth generation of Gerhard and Silvia Haider, father Martin Haider is responsible for the vineyards. These comprise 13 hectares of vineyards in, for example, the Kaiserwinkel, Römerstein and Sandriegel vineyards. They are 70% with the white varieties Welschriesling, Riesling, Seedling 88, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Bouvier and Muskat Ottonel, and 30% with the red varieties Blauer Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch
, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and St. Laurent planted. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place using pure breeding yeasts with the shortest possible fermentation time. Martin Haider is an absolute specialist in sweet wines in all grades from berry selection to dry berry selection to ice wine, which in good years account for up to 70% of the production. Up to 85% of these are exported. The premium wines include Trockenbeerenauslese, Nektaressenz-Trockenbeerenauslese (very high-quality Trockenbeerenauslese, which can only be produced in very good vintages) and the red wines aged in barriques. Also worth mentioning is the white wine cuvée "Federwolke" (Riesling, Grüner Veltliner) with only 9.5% vol alcohol.
