The winery is located in the municipality of Kernen-Stetten (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. Karl Haidle was the first winegrower in the Rems Valley to market his wine himself. Hans Haidle took over the business from his father in 1968 and expanded the estate from one hectare to its current size. Today, Moritz Haidle is the third generation of the family to run the business. After an apprenticeship with Thomas Seeger (Kurpfalz/North Baden) and Gunter Künstler (Rheingau) and studying viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim, his son Moritz Haidle has been responsible for the development of the wines since 2014.

The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Häder, Lindhälder, Mönchberg(Gewanne Berge and Gehrnhalde) and Pulvermächer (Stetten), Altenberg and Burghalde (Schnait). The best plots are located in the central, partly terraced section of single vineyard Stettener Pulvermächer, which rises directly behind the winery building. The white wine varieties Riesling (16 ha) and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Pinot Noir and Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) are cultivated.

The vineyards were converted to organic viticulture in 2014. Since 2020, biodynamic viticulture has been practised according to the rules of the organic association DEMETER. The company philosophy is "Good wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar". In the vineyard, the defining characteristics of the respective site are promoted. This includes extensive manual labour and extreme yield regulation. Thanks to constantly growing experience, the individual vineyards are treated with precision, producing wines with a unique character from their deep-rooted and sometimes very old vines.

The product range is organised according to the VDP classification model from VDP Ortswein to VDP Grosse Lage. The general focus is on the Riesling and Lemberger varieties. Most of the cellar work is non-invasive (as much as necessary, as little as possible). All wines are fermented spontaneously. The red wines are matured in French oak barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the DEMETER and VDP associations and the German Barrique Forum.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
