Haidle Karl

The winery "Karl Haidle" is located in the municipality Kernen-Stetten (area Remstal-Stuttgart) in the German wine-growing region Wuerttemberg, Hans Haidle took over in 1968 from his father, the operation and increased the possession of one hectare to the present extent. In 1993, a new cellar building was put into operation. Today the company is run by Moritz Haidle in the third generation of the family. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Häder, Lindhälder, Mönchberg and Pulvermächer (Stetten) Altenberg. Burghaldenstrasse and Sonnenberg (Schnait), as well as Nonnenberg (Strümpfelbach). The best plots are located in the central, partly terraced section of the single layer Stettener Pulvermächer, which rises directly behind the winery building. The white varieties Riesling (7 ha) and Kerner, as well as the red varieties Trollinger, Pinot Noir, Lemberger and Zweigelt are cultivated. The management is currently on Organic viticulture converted (status 2015). The best Lemberger, Spätburgunder, Dornfelder and Zweigelt ripen in French, Swabian and Spessart oak barrels.
