Haidle Karl

The "Karl Haidle" winery is located in the municipality of Kernen-Stetten (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region Wuerttemberg, Hans Haidle took over the business from his father in 1968 and expanded the estate from one hectare to the current size. In 1993 a new winery building was put into operation. Today, the third generation of the family is run by Moritz Haidle. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Häder, Lindhälder, Mönchberg and Pulvermächer (Stetten) Altenberg. Burghaldenstrasse and Sonnenberg (Schnait), as well as Nonnenberg (Strümpfelbach). The best plots are located in the central, partly terraced section of the single layer of Stettener Powder Makers, which rises directly behind the winery building. The white varieties Riesling (7 ha) and Kerner, as well as the red varieties Trollinger, Pinot Noir, Lemberger and Zweigelt are cultivated. Management is currently on Organic viticulture changed (status 2015). The best Lviv, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder and Zweigelt mature in French, Swabian and Spessarte oak barrels.
