The Austrian wine expert Dr. Christa Hanten (* 1954) was in Weinviertel
born in, grew up in Langenlois
on and was in Krems
trained, so that was in their own words "the reference to wine preprogrammed". Her studies in German and Economic History at the University of Wien
were completed with a dissertation on organization and marketing in viticulture. After "years of wandering" in libraries and publishers, the decision was taken in 1993 to become self-employed, with a focus on text and media design in the (wine) culinary field. Christa Hanten is a specialist lecturer, editor, author and wine critic
active. After many years in the jury Salon Austrian Wine
today z. B. at Best of Riesling and in their specialty Organic wines
(eg jury member at the International Organic Wine Award).
In addition, Christa Hanten works as an expert on "Hochgeistiges" long-time jury member of the Destillata and is still active in the World Spirits Award. She is a regular contributor to the Alpen-Adria-Magazin Papageno (Brenner portraits, distillates / spirits and restaurants with a focus on spirits). Her most important publications are "Austria's Salon Wines" (1999 to 2008), "Vinegar - The Acid Environment" (2000), "The ABC of Wines Germany, Austria, Switzerland" (2003), "Wine Burgenland" with the wine expert Walter coachman
(2004), collaboration with "Brockhaus Wein" (2004), and "The Austrian Wines, Vienna International Hotels & Resorts" (2008 and 2011).
