Happenbach

The red grape variety (also Tafeltraube Happenbach) was long considered a new breed between Trollinger ( Schiava Grossa x Sylvaner; the naming took place after the place of the same name in Wuerttemberg in Germany, The crossing took place at the beginning of the 1930s at the Weinbauinstitut vineyard, The father was allegedly one by Gustav Adolf Froelich (1847-1912) Selection of Red Silvaner (a red-berry variety of the Silvaner). In the 2010s was through DNA analysis at the Geilweilerhof (Julius Kühn-Institut) stated that it is a "purebred" variety Trollinger (Schiava Grossa). She was earlier than table grape used.
