The winery is located in the municipality of Weiden am See in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). The traditional family has been farming since 1725 and has also planted vines for at least four generations. The farm was handed over by Gerda and Matthias Hareter in 2011. Since then, it has been run by son Thomas Hareter and his wife Claudia Hareter-Kroiss. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner,Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated. The company motto is: "Anything that is against nature will not last in the long run" (Charles Darwin).
Since the 2009 vintage, certified organic viticulture has been practised according to the rules of the organic umbrella organisation Bio Austria. This includes the complete renunciation of pesticides(herbicides, insecticides, etc.) and mineral fertilisers. Instead, attention is paid to the interplay of herbs and weeds, the early detection and prevention of diseases, and the targeted use of organic matter to strengthen the vines in order to maintain biodiversity and sustainability in the vineyard. This results in vegan, histamine-free organic wines. The premium wines include the red wine cuvée "Chronos" (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch) as well as the two pure red wines "Zeiselberg" (Blaufränkisch) and "Cabernet Sauvignon ohne" (unfiltered and unfined). Frizzante, natural wine and grape juice are also produced. In years suitable for the weather, there are also sweet wines such as Ausbruch and Trockenbeerenauslese.
