Hart private winery

The estate is located in the municipality Thüngersheim (area Maindreieck) 12 kilometers down the main from Würzburg in the German growing area Franconia, The traditional farm was originally located in the historic center, the archway records the year 1604, and was processed as a mixed farm including viticulture. In 1960 it was relocated to the outskirts of Thüngersheim and converted by Rudolf & Hannelore Hart on viticulture and asparagus cultivation with catering and hotel. Since 1998 the company is run by son Hans-Jürgen Hart and his wife Claudia. The hotel restaurant "Winzerhof" is run separately by a tenant family. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Benediktusberg (Retzbach), as well Johannisberg and Scharlachberg (Thuengersheim). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Kerner and Huxelrebe, as well as the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Cabernet Dorsa and Portugieser. The management is based on the principles of natural viticulture. In weather-appropriate years also sweet dessert wines such as Trockenbeerenauslese, as well as ice wines are pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, brandies (pomace, yeast, grapes, fruit) and liqueurs are also produced.
