Hartford

The red grape variety comes from the United States, Synonyms are Fertile de Hartfort, Framingham, Hartford de Vivie, Hartford Prolific, Maguire, Seneca and Steele's Seedling. It is probably a spontaneous interspecific cross between Isabella x Labrusca wild grape. At least they are genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera contain. The hybrid was created in 1849 by the private breeder H. Steele in the eponymous city of West Hartford in the US state Connecticut discovered and selected. Direct descendants or openly bloomed Seedlings are the varieties Fredonia. Ives. Noah (?), Plamennyi and Seneca (2). The variety produces red wines with distinctive Foxton, In 2010, however, no stocks were shown (Kym Anderson ).
