The Polynesian chain of islands in the northern Pacific with the main island of the same name (also called the Big Island) and the capital Honolulu was US federal territory since 1898 and became the 50th state of the United States in 1959 USA, It will fruit wine from various tropical fruits, but mainly produced from pineapple. The biggest manufacturer is Volcano Winery, but no real wine grapes produced. On the second largest island of Maui was founded in 1974 in Ulupalukua by the winemaker Emil Tedeschi from the California Napa Valley the winery "Tedeschi Vineyard and Winery" founded. There, the pineapple wine "Maui Blanc", the pineapple sparkling wine "Maui Sparkling", a rosé cuvée from the varieties Carnelian and Chenin Blanc, as well as the red wines "Ulupalakua" and "Plantation" produced from the variety Carnelian. Every year in November the annual "Annual Winter Wine Escape" takes place in Hawaii with 50 producers from all over the world.
