Hebros

The red grape variety (also Herbos) is one new breed between Muscat à Petits Grains Rouges (red variant Muscat Blanc ) x Pinot Noir, It was named after Hébros, the main stream of ancient Thrace (today it is called Maritza). The crossing took place in 1952 Bulgaria by the two private breeders P. Kourtev and D. Babrikov. No stocks were shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).

But there is also a Bulgarian of the same name brand wine; one in Sherry style produced cuvée.
