The winery is located in the municipality of Baumgarten am Wagram (cadastral municipality of Großweikersdorf) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. It has been family-owned since 1844. Since 1990, the winery has been run by Helmut and Gabriele Mayer, who are assisted by their sons Stefan and Reinhard. The vineyards cover 15 hectares in the Bergthal and Draxelgraben vineyards, for example. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Welschriesling, Muscat, Roter Veltliner, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon. Natural viticulture is practised according to ecological principles. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in steel tanks or in barriques. The premium wines include "Grüner Veltliner Premium", "Grüner Veltliner Wagramer Selektion", Zweigelt limited, as well as the red wine cuvée "Legat" (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon) aged in barrique. A Frizzante "Esprit" is also produced. The winery is a member of the Wagramer Selektion winegrowers' association and the European Wine Knighthood.
