Heimoff Steve

The US-American wine author and wine critic Steve Heimoff is considered a California expert. He worked for Wine Spectator from 1989 to 1994 and then for Wine Enthusiast. In an open letter to the "San Francisco Chronicle" newspaper, he criticised the well-known author James Laube of the competing magazine Wine Spectator for what he considered to be too harsh a criticism of a Château Montelena wine with a cork flavour. He said that one should not unsettle consumers, who for the most part are not able to detect such low levels of TCA. Heimoff is author of the wine books "A Wine Journey along the Russian River" (2005) and "New Classic Winemakers of California: Conversations with Steve Heimoff" (2007).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
