, The traditional family has been practicing viticulture for over 100 years. In the 1960s, Friedel and Renate Hemmes converted the former agricultural mixed farm to viticulture. Today he is led by Frank and Tanja Hemmes. A vinotheque and a wine school set up in two former classrooms are connected. During the year, there are court festivals, literary tastings, wine tours, and wine and music events. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards around the Rochusberg and in the individual layers Scharlachberg
and Schlossberg-Schwätzerchen (Bingen). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Grüner Silvaner, Ortega, Huxelrebe and Kerner, and the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelde, Portuguese, St. Laurent, Regent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is operated consistently close to nature, environmentally friendly viticulture. The wines are produced with the aim of area typicality. Depending on the type of wine, they are aged in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or barriques. It is also produced a sparkling wine.
