The white grape variety (also Georgia 3) is a new variety between Yuga (San Monta open-pollinated) x unknown variety. Both parents were the American species Vitis rotundifolia. The cross was made in 1950 by the breeders B. O. Fry and M. M. Murphy at the Georgia Agricultural Experiment Station. It is an all-female grape variety. The vine is resistant to Pierce Disease. It was a crossing partner in the new varieties Cowart and Doreen. The variety is used as table grape.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
