Hill Smith Estate

The Australian winery in the Eden Valley area (South Australia) was founded in 1979 by Wyndham Hill Smith (1909-1990). He was the head of the Hill Smith family who owned the Yalumba wine production empire. The vineyards cover 15 hectares and are mainly planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The first wine was produced in 1981. The red wine cuvée from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz matures partly in French barriques.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
