The winery is located in the municipality of Leibnitz in the Austrian wine-growing region of Southern Styria, surrounded by wild flowers and herbs, dense forests and vines. After the purchase of a plot of land, the business was established by Anton and Astrid Hirschmugl at the beginning of the 2010s. Three apartments, each of which is furnished true to the original according to the epochs Biedermeier, Art Nouveau & 50s, as well as a holiday apartment "am Sonnenhang" are offered for rent. A small chapel in the vineyard, a more than 200 year old cellar vault and a ballroom offer an exclusive ambience for weddings, birthday parties and company events. Alexander Scherübl is responsible as cellar master.

In accordance with the aim of producing original wines, fungus-resistant PIWI varieties have also been planted. Great importance was attached to aroma spectrum and taste potential. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines on extreme steep slopes with sedimentary soils and mineral rock. They are planted to 80% with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling,Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay or Morillon, Traminer, Muscaris and Cabernet Blanc, and to 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Cabertin. Certified organic viticulture is practised. In the vineyards there are different types of vipers. These non-toxic snakes are considered to be an indicator of an intact environment, which can only be guaranteed if they are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way. This is why the viper is also included on the labels as a winery symbol.

Only ripe and healthy grapes are selected by hand for processing. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in stainless steel tanks, large wooden barrels or barriques. The product range is divided into the lines Styrian Drinking Pleasure (wines with pronounced minerality), Nobilis(terroir wines from the best sites), Aurum (only produced in the best vintages) and Natural(spontaneous fermentation, several days of maceration in the manner of an orange wine). All wines are certified organic and vegan, most of them are vinified and bottled without filtration and only with small amounts of sulphur. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines, fruit juices, vinegars, grape seed flour, grape seed oil and honey from our own beekeeping.
