The winery is located in the municipality of Gobelsburg (Langenlois) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of
Kamptal. The history of this traditional family business dates back to 1590, the year in which the family coat of arms was created. In 1985, the estate was taken over by Elisbeth and Egmont Höfinger. Their two daughters, Christine and Johanna, already contribute their knowledge and skills in addition to their education. Attached is the cosy restaurant "Rebstockgrill", which was opened in 1983. The vineyards cover around 22 hectares in the Haide, Hofstatt, Hussen, Steinsätz and Thal (Gobelsburg),
Heiligenstein and Kogelberg (Zöbing) and Sachsenberg (Hadersdorf) vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, as well as with the red wine varieties Blauer Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
Natural viticulture is practised. During grape production, great importance is attached to quality-enhancing
short pruning, careful foliage work,
thinning out of excessive grape clusters and the selection of the optimal harvest time. The result is fruity and expressive wines. The premium wines include Grüner Veltliner "Frisch und Fruchtig", Gobelsburger Steinsätz, Zöbinger Kogelberg and Gobelsburger Alte Hussen (barrique aged), the two Rieslings "E" Zöbinger Heiligenstein and Kamptaler Weinberge, Pinot Blanc "Classic" and barrique aged, as well as the red wines Blauer Zweigelt, Cuvée Pinot Noir & Merlot and the 12-month barrique aged Cuvée Egmont made from Blauer Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir. In suitable years, Beerenauslesen, Trockenbeerenauslesen and ice wines are also pressed. Grape juices (Veltliner, Zweigelt) and brandies (wine, marc) are also produced.
