Högl Josef

The estate is located in the municipality of Viessling ( Spitz a. D. ) in the Spitzer Graben in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Wachau, It is run by Josef Högl. The mostly terraced vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Castle hill, Bruck, Mitterfeld, beautiful, Steinertal and Wandl. They are made with the Riesling and white wine varieties Green Valtellina (40% each), as well as smaller stocks Chardonnay, Yellow muscatel. Sauvignon Blanc and Neuburger planted. More areas in Dürnstein and loaves ( Loibenberg ) are leased, which are planted with Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Chardonnay. It is consistently practiced near-natural viticulture. By a greening erosion is to be prevented. The manual harvest takes place in up to three runs. Premium wines include Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Steinertal, Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Schön, Riesling Smaragd Bruck and Riesling Reserve Loibenberg. In weather-appropriate years too Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein vinified. There are also bottle fermented sect, Brandies and apricot jam.
