Höllberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Siefersheim ( Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The name refers to the warm climatic conditions. The south to south-east facing vineyards at 170 to 230 metres above sea level with a slope of 10 to 30% cover 28 hectares of vineyards. They are partly interspersed with old dry stone walls. The soils consist of sandy to stony sloping loam with clay in the subsoil in the lower area and stony porphyry weathering with porphyry rock in the subsoil in the upper parcels. The Riesling, Silvaner and Blauer Portugieser varieties are cultivated here. The Wagner-Stempel winery, for example, has a share in the core area of the site.

There are other individual vineyards called Höllberg in the municipalities of Auerbach ( Hessische Bergstraße growing region), as well as Buggingen and Hügelheim ( Baden growing region).
