Hoevel

The estate is located in the municipality Konz-Oberemmel (Saar area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It was formerly part of the monastery estate St. Maximin, under Napoleon Sovereignty was secularized. From now state owned Emmerich Grach bought in 1803 vineyards and founded the winery. By inheritance, it was 1902 to his granddaughter, who was married to Baldwin von Hövel. Owner is since mid-2011, the great-great-grandson Maximilian von Kunow, acting as a winemaker Albrecht Schmitt.

The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Agritiusberg, hut in sole ownership and Rosenberg (Oberemmel), hear Shrouded in sole ownership (Kanzem), as well as parcels in the legendary Scharzhofberg (Wiltingen). They are exclusively planted with the Riesling. The wines from Rosenberg and Agritiusberg are marketed as Gutsriesling under the name "Balduin von Hövel". The reduced yield is on average 55 hectoliters / hectare. The wines are mainly made in traditional wood powder fruity expanded. The winery is a member of VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
