The estate is located in the municipality of Konz-Oberemmel (Saar area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It was formerly part of the St. Maximin monastery, which is under Napoleon Rule was secularized. Emmerich Grach bought vineyards from the now state-owned property and founded the winery in 1803. Through inheritance it went to his granddaughter, who was married to Baldwin von Hövel, in 1902. They are planted exclusively with the Riesling. The wines from Rosenberg and Agritiusberg are marketed as estate Riesling under the name "Balduin von Hövel".
