Holzer Andreas

The traditional winery is located in the municipality Nussdorf south of Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Traisental, The family has been growing wine since 1838. Today it is run by Alfred Holzer and son Andreas. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in, for example, the Riede Steinbühl. They are planted to 70% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, and to 30% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Blaufränkisch , Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the vineyard is a natural, environmentally friendly management. Quality criteria are high foliage walls, yield reduction and an optimally selected harvest time. The premium wines include Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Traisental DAC and Traisental DAC Reserve, as well as the barrique red wine blend "Quercus" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt).
