The red grape variety comes from the Turkey; the name means "Black Rooster". Synonyms are Horoz, Horoz Karasi, Khorozkarassi and Kilis Karasi. The latter indicates the origin of the province of Kilis in the southeast. She may not with the morphological very similar varieties Adakarasi. Calkarasi. Kalecik Karasi or Papazkarasi be confused (but it is believed that some of them may be identical). The medium-maturing vine is prone to Botrytis but very suitable for a hot climate. It produces colorful, tannin and alcohol-rich red wines of rather simple quality. It will be more than table grape valued.
