The white grape variety originates from Hungary. Synonyms are Extrai, Fehérszölö, Hosszucipkaju Fehér, Langstängler, Langstieler, Langstingler and Nyarhaju. It should not be confused with the Juhfark (Hosszunyelü) variety. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a presumably natural cross between Braghină Rosie (Bagrina) x Lisztes Fehér. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). It was described in 1887 by Hermann Goethe (1837-1911) in his ampelography. There are said to be small areas in Baden(Germany) and Banat (Hungary). However, no populations were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
