Term (also everyday wine, consumer wine, drinking wine, Zapfwein, Zechwein) for a simple but flawless wine without special quality, which is usually intended for a quick drinking pleasure. The name has no meaning under wine law. This is usually understood to mean a wine served from a larger container. This can be a barrel, a tank or a glass balloon. Especially in rustic wine bars like Buschenschank and Winery this is common. That is why such wines are also called open wines (openly served). The terms bulk wine (related to bottling) and mass wine (related to quality) sometimes have similar meanings. The usual term in Austria bulk wine is to be understood negatively.
