Humer Andreas

The estate is located in the municipality Mühlbach am Manhartsberg (Großgemeinde Hohenwarth) in the southwest of the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, The family business is run in the second generation since 1996 by Margit and Andreas Humer. Attached is a seasonal open wine tavern. The vineyards are located on the southeastern slopes and foothills of the Manhartsberg and consist of loess, sandy and loam soils with some ancient rock. The 15 hectares of vines are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Frühroter Veltliner , Rivaner, Roter Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, and with the red varieties Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt. Special value is on ecological Management after KIP guidelines (controlled and integrated production).

The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in traditional wooden barrels and partly in oak barrels. The "Josef Misson Wine", made from the variety Grüner Veltliner, pays tribute to the dialect poet Josef Misson (1803-1875), born in Mühlbach am Manhartsberg, from whom goes the popular dialect epic "Da Naz - a Lower Austrian peasant boy written in the versification Hexameter in d'Fremd ". Other premium wines include the Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), the Frührote Veltliner, a red wine cuvée from Blauburger, Zweigelt and Blauer Portugieser, as well as a Gewürztraminer. Sweet wines, fruit brandies and liqueurs are also produced. The winery is a member of the vintners' association Weingüter Weinviertel.
