Humer Andreas

The estate is located in the municipality of Mühlbach am Manhartsberg (Greater Hohenwarth) in the south-west of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel, The family business has been run by Margit and Andreas Humer in the second generation since 1996. A seasonally open wine tavern is connected. The vineyards are located on the south-eastern slopes and foothills of the Manhartsberg and consist of loess, sand and loam soils, some with prehistoric rock. The 15 hectares of vines are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Frühroter Veltliner , Rivaner, Roter Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, as well as with the red varieties Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt. Special value is on ecological Management after KIP guidelines (controlled and integrated production).

The white wines are aged in steel tanks, the red wines in traditional wooden barrels and partly in barriques. The "Josef Misson Wein" made from the Grüner Veltliner variety is a tribute to the dialect poet Josef Misson (1803-1875), who was born in Mühlbach am Manhartsberg, and from whom the well-known dialect epic "Da Naz - a Lower Austrian farmer's bui" is written in meter in d'Fremd ”. Other premium wines include the Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), the early red Veltliner, a red wine cuvée from Blauburger, Zweigelt and Blauer Portugieser, and a Gewürztraminer. Sweet wines, fruit brandies and liqueurs are also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Weingüter Weinviertel.
