The winery is located in the municipality Villány
in the Hungarian wine region of the same name. It was founded in 1998 by Horst Hummel. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards on limestone loess soils, which are planted with the red varieties Portugieser, Kékfrankos ( Blaufränkisch
), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The white wine varieties Hárslevelü (lime-leafed) and Tramini (Gewürztraminer) are also purchased. The management has been carried out since 2008 ecological Regulate. The aim is to produce genuine, independent and characterful wines that express the essential characteristics of the grape variety, the soil and the special Villány climate. The red wines are mostly fermented spontaneous
and in open fermentation tanks. After fermentation is complete, the wine remains for two to four weeks maceration on the mash. Then it is drawn off in oak barrels of different ages and provenances. Depending on the variety, the wine matures there for up to two years.
