The winery is located in the municipality Villány
in the eponymous Hungarian wine-growing region. It was founded in 1998 by Horst Hummel. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vines on calcareous loess soil, which are planted with the red varieties Portugieser, Kékfrankos ( Blaufränkisch
), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The white varieties Hárslevelü (Lindenblättriger) and Tramini (Gewürztraminer) are being bought. The management is done since 2008 after ecological Regulate. The aim is to produce genuine, distinctive and full of character wines, which express the essential characteristics of the grape variety, the soil and the particular Villányer climate. The fermentation of red wines is predominantly spontaneous
and in open fermentation tanks. After fermentation, the wine remains for two to four weeks maceration on the mash. Then it is withdrawn in oak barrels of different ages and provenance. There, the wine matures, depending on the variety, up to two years.
