The "Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin" was established in 2007 through the merger of the national specialist institutes ENTAV (Etablissement National Technique pour l'Amélioration de la Viticulture) and ITV (Institut Technique de la Vigne et du Vin = Institute for Vine and Wine ) emerged.
