Abbreviation for "International Grape Genome Program", an international collaboration on the subject of vine research with a focus on genome research. There are research centers in Australia (here is CSIRO involved), Chile, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, South Africa and the USA. The determination of the genome sequence of the grapevine was an important prerequisite.
