IGGP

Abbreviation for "International Grape Genome Program", an international collaboration on grapevine research with a focus on genome research. There are research centers in Australia (here is CSIRO involved), Chile, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, South Africa and the USA. An important prerequisite was the determination of the genome sequence of the grapevine. The main goals of the project are the improvement of earnings and quality in grape production genetic engineering Changes in the genetic material.
