The new name or abbreviation IGP is used in four countries:

  • France : Indication Géographique Protégée (formerly Vin de pays )
  • Italy : Indicazione Geografica Protetta (formerly IGT = Indicazione Geografica Tipica)
  • Portugal : Indicação Geográfica Protegida (formerly VR = Vinho Regional)
  • Spain : Indicación Geográfica Protegida (formerly VdlT = Vino de la Tierra)
