In German Rheinhessen, a dialectal term (after Imbiss = small meal) for the rustic meal in the vineyard, which was taken by the vineyard workers at midday (formerly indicated by the church tower bell). The meal was brought by the vintner in a handled basket and traditionally consisted of home-made sausage (liverwurst, black pudding, Schwartenmagen), jacket potatoes (Quellmänner) and soft cheese, which lay on a tablecloth spread out on the ground.
