Inführ

The parent company of the Austrian sparkling wine house is located in the town of Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria). The roots go back to the 19th century. Kommerzial-Rat Karl Inführ (1907-1977) built the company into a leading sparkling wine producer. During his time, the Österreichische Champagner-Fabrik AG (Brunn am Gebirge, Lower Austria) was purchased. He also pioneered the production of sparkling wine, semi-sparkling wine and fruit sparkling wine using the méthode charmat (large-scale fermentation process). Inführ was the first Austrian winery to produce a sparkling wine and a semi-sparkling wine using this method from 1949, a fruit sparkling wine from 1968 and, for the first time in Austria, a sparkling wine for diabetics from 1970. In 1992, aromatised wine-based beverages were newly developed, and in 1997 a Goldsekt was produced for the first time. The product range includes the sparkling wines Cabinet (Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner), Austria Gold (with 23-carat gold), Blue Magic, Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Rosé and Red. Furthermore, a Primosecco (peach flavour), a Frizzante Hollerblüten/Zitrone, an apple and apricot fruit sparkling wine, a Frizzante Energy and a G'spritzter are produced.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
