The white grape variety is a new variety between Verdiso x Riesling Italico(Welschriesling). Synonyms are Incroccio Cosmo 103, Verdiso x Riesling Italico 103 and V x RI 103. The crossbreeding was done in Italy in the 1950's by the breeder Italo Cosmo at the Research Institute in Conegliano (Veneto). With the same parents the new variety Flavis was created. The early to medium ripening vine is cultivated in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region. In 2016, 47 hectares of vineyards were designated with an upward trend (statistics Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
