The winery is located in the municipality of Kenzingen (Breisgau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. Founded in 1987, the winery is managed by Bernhard Jägle. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Hummelberg and Roter Berg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer and Auxerrois, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The hillside and terraced areas are cultivated according to the latest scientific findings in accordance with the guidelines for environmentally friendly production (KIP). The high planting density guarantees a low vine load and thus the highest possible grape quality. Quality criteria are reduced yields and selective manual harvesting of physiologically fully ripe, healthy grapes.

The white wines are vinified reductively. After chilled fermentation, they undergo malolactic fermentation (BSA). The red wines are fermented on the skins. The fruity types are stored in stainless steel, the best qualities mature in large wooden bar rels or in barrique. After the BSA, there is a longer storage period on the fine yeast. The product range is divided into three lines: litre wines (Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Noir with screw cap), classics ( fruity white and red wines typical of the variety) and MJ (Jägle method). The latter come from particularly old vines from selected plots with low yields from hand-picked late harvests, gentle vinification and long ripening. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines with 9-month storage and noble brandies are also produced. About 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
