Joannes Seyve

The red grape variety (also Joannes Seyve D.) probably comes from France. It is named after Joannes Seyve (1900-1966), the son of the famous French vine grower Bertille Seyve (see Seyve-Villard). The parentage (parenthood) is unknown, possibly it is one of the numerous Joannes-Seyve new varieties (see Seyve Joannes). In 2016, a stock of just under one hectare was declared in the Landes department (Kym Anderson). However, it is not clear exactly which variety is involved.
