The estate is located in the commune of Ürzig (Bernkastel district) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, The Christoffel family has been wine-growing here for more than 400 years. The manor house is a beautifully renovated half-timbered house from the 17th century. Under the grandfather of the current owner Hans Leo Christoffel, the estate gained a widespread reputation as one of the best producers of classic Mosel Rieslings. The vineyards have been owned by Robert Eymael from the winery since 2001 Mönchhof Robert Eymael
leased. The wines are aged in a closed part of the estate. Hans Leo Christoffel continues to work with his advice. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vineyards in the locations podium
(Earth) and Würzgarten
(Ürzig). They are planted exclusively with root-safe Riesling vines, some of which are over 100 years old. The winery is a member of VDP
(Association of German quality wine estates).
