Joven

Spanish term for a young wine (red, rosé and white) marketed in the first year after the harvest and matured only briefly (maximum six months) or not at all (sin crianza) in the barrel. These wines are intended for immediate consumption. Such wines correspond analogously to the French Nouveau (Primeur). See also under Crianza and the wine legislation in Spain.
