Judge Franz Georges

The Rebschulbesitzer and vine grower Franz Georges Richter (1858 - ????) attended the Ackerbau school in the southern French Montpellier (Languedoc). There he made research results in the subject of contamination by the phylloxera and reconstruction familiar. After his training he was commissioned by the Italian Agricultural Ministry, in Italy nurseries with suitable American vines from France. After his return to France, he founded a nursery, which soon provided many winemakers in France and the rest of Europe with grafting.
