The white grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between SV 12-375 (Villard Blanc) x Pinot Blanc. The name means "twilight". It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Poland by the breeder Roman Myśliwiec. The early-maturing vine is resistant to both powdery mildew and botrytis and frost-resistant to minus 25 °Celsius. Due to its broad fungal tolerance, it is considered a PIWI variety. It produces a white wine with a muscat tone. The phylloxera-resistant variety is cultivated in Poland ungrafted. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
