The winery is located in the municipality of Kanedolo, approximately 1.6 km southeast of Momjan in the northwest of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia. The winemaking tradition of the family Markežić started in 1891, when the foundation stone was laid with the white wine Muškat Momjanski. Today the farm is run by Marino Markežić. The vineyards are situated on the hill Stancija at an altitude of 275 meters above sea level on marl rich clay soils. The white wine varieties Malvasia(Malvazija Istarska), Muškat Momjanski (variety of Muscat Blanc), as well as the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Teran(Terrano) and Merlot are cultivated. The winery is a pioneer of biological (organic) viticulture in Croatia. Since 2014 it has been certified according to the EU Organic Regulation. The wines mature in oak barrels or in amphorae after maceration of varying lengths. A speciality are the Orange Wines, which mature in amphorae until late spring without removing the grape skins and sediment with long fermentation.
