The winery is located in the municipality of Kanedolo about 1.6 km southeast of Momjan in the northwest of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, The viticulture tradition of the Markežić family began in 1891, when the foundation stone was laid with the white wine Muškat Momjanski. Today the company is run by Marino Markežić. The vineyards are located on the hill Stancija at 275 meters above sea level on marly-rich loamy soil. The white varieties Malvasia ( Malvasia Istarska ), Muškat Momjanski (Variety of the Muscat Blanc ), as well as the red wines Cabernet Sauvignon, Teran ( Terrano ) and Merlot grown. The winery is a pioneer in Croatia Organic (organic) viticulture, Since 2014 it is according to EU Organic Regulation certified. The wines ripen after different lengths maceration in oak barrels or in amphorae, A specialty is the Orange Wines that ripen in amphorae until the late spring without removing the grape skins and the sediment with long fermentation.
