The red grape variety comes from Georgia, Synonyms are Abkazouri, Abkhazouri, Kachich, Kachichizh, Kachici, Kadzhidzh, Kagigi, Katchitchige, Katchitchij, Katcitci, Kattchitchi and Kattcitchi. The first mention was made in the 19th century. The very late ripening vine is susceptible to real ones mildew, It produces dark-colored red wines. The variety is grown in small quantities in northwestern Georgia and neighboring autonomous Abkhazia. It is also called table grape used. However, no stocks were shown in 2010 (Kym Anderson ).
