Käsleberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Oberrotweil (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The flat vineyards, which are oriented from west to east, as well as in the flatter area to the northeast, with slopes ranging from 0 to 20%, cover about 300 hectares of vineyards on loess soils. Due to the truly enormous size, however, it is a very inhomogeneous site. Above all, Burgundy varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are cultivated here. The Bercher-Schmidt, Marković and Salwey wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
