Kahlenberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Bad Kreuznach in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. It was already mentioned in documents in 1499. The south-facing vineyards are situated at an altitude of 140 to 155 metres above sea level and have a slope of 10 to 40%. They cover 16 hectares of vineyards on gravelly loam. Here, mainly the varieties Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are cultivated. The Anheuser Paul, Dönnhoff Hermann, Finkenauer Anton, Reichsgraf von Plettenberg and Staatsweingut Bad Kreuznach w ineries, for example, have shares in the site. Other single vineyard sites named Kahlenberg in Germany are located in the two municipalities of Feilbingert (Nahe) and Ottersheim near Landau (Pfalz).
